Hi there, and welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet.
I’m Andrea — mama, wife, food lover, and forever student of holistic wellness and nutrition. I created Simply Andrea as a space to share the things that bring me joy, keep me grounded, and help me feel my best — from nourishing meals and wellness tips to the everyday moments of family life.
This is a place where simplicity meets intention. Where wellness doesn’t have to be perfect, and taking care of yourself can feel natural, doable, and real.
I’m so glad you’re here — let’s walk this journey together, one simple step at a time.
Years ago, I started out as an Early Childhood Educator. I’ve always had a heart for nurturing and teaching, but like many of us, life took me on some unexpected detours. I became a mom to two energetic, loving boys, started a home baking business, and eventually found myself diving deep into the world of wellness — not just food, but all the little things that help us feel balanced and alive.
That shift didn’t happen overnight. Somewhere between late-night baking sessions, sticky kitchen counters, and packing endless school lunches, my health started sending me signals I didn’t fully understand. At first, it was small things — tiredness, stress, feeling out of sync. But over time, those whispers got louder. I felt drained and disconnected, physically and emotionally, and eventually I hit a breaking point where I knew I had to listen to my body and mind.
That’s when my interest in food went beyond just cooking healthy meals. I wanted to really understand how what we eat affects our energy, mood, hormones, and ability to heal. This curiosity also brought me back to some of the things my mom taught me growing up—like those strong, bitter herbal teas from Traditional Chinese Medicine that I used to avoid. Suddenly, they started to make sense. But it wasn’t just about food anymore. I wanted to learn how everything—food, movement, sleep, mindset, and all the little pieces of wellness—works together to support not just the body, but the mind and soul too. That’s when I began diving into nutrition and holistic wellness, discovering the importance of balance and self-care.
Since then, I’ve been on a journey of study and growth. I earned a certificate in nutrition and am now training to become a certified holistic nutritionist and wellness coach. It’s been a healing, eye-opening, and life-changing path. What I’ve realized is that wellness isn’t about perfection — it’s about tuning in, making space for what nourishes us, and embracing the messiness of life with grace.
Through it all, the kitchen remains my sanctuary — a place for creativity, making memories with my boys, and sharing love through food. My love for food started way back with my mom. She made our kitchen the heart of our home, and now I’m carrying on that tradition—cooking meals that not only fill our bellies but feed our souls. But wellness is bigger than just meals. It’s about slowing down when you can, finding joy in small moments, moving your body in ways that feel good, and nurturing your mental and emotional health too.
Travel has also been a huge part of my learning and inspiration — from noodle stalls in Tokyo to cozy coffee shops in Europe and spicy street food in Jamaica. These adventures feed my soul just as much as they do my appetite, reminding me that wellness is a rich, full experience.
This blog is a little corner where I share all of that — not just recipes, but stories, tips, and real-life lessons. It’s a space where wellness meets everyday life — where nourishing your whole self is simple, joyful, and doable.
If you’re a busy parent juggling all the things — picky eaters, endless to-dos, and the chaos of family life — I want you to know you’re not alone. Let’s embrace the mess, laugh through the hard days, and find joy in the little wins. Because those sticky countertops and floury fingerprints are signs of love, learning, and memories in the making.
Thank you for being here. I hope this space brings you a bit of inspiration, some go-to meals, and gentle reminders that wellness is about caring for your whole self — mind, body, and heart.
I write from both a Traditional Chinese Medicine and holistic nutrition perspective. The content here is for educational purposes only and is meant to offer a variety of tools to support your health journey. Always listen to your body and seek individual guidance when needed.
