Some might add a little spice for a kick, while others might highlight specific ingredients, giving it a personal touch that makes it even more special.

Ingredients and Cooking Process

Alright, let’s get into the details of making this delicious meal that’s sure to become your new go-to comfort food! As a parent, it’s so special to share these moments with my own kids. Their excitement mirrors mine from when I was their age, creating a beautiful circle of tradition.

I love that you don’t need many ingredients for it. Just cook the meat with cream corn and spoon it over some steamed rice and voila, you got a dish that’s sweet and savoury, all wrapped up in one perfect bite. This is the kind of comfort food that just hits the spot every time. In just about 15 minutes or less, you’ll have a new weeknight dinner favourite that’s simple and delicious! This dish has been our lifesaver on those hectic evenings with the kids’ back-to-back schedules. My mom always went for minced pork, and I usually stick to that, though I occasionally mix things up with leaner choices such as ground turkey or chicken. But, let’s be honest – that extra fat in pork does bring a juicier and more flavourful result.

First off, gather your essentials: creamed corn, minced pork, and some good ol’ rice. It’s the magic trio that’s going to bring this meal together.

* 1lb minced pork, ground chicken or ground turkey
* I like to marinate the meat for at least an hour with some minced garlic, soya sauce, sesame oil and a hint of white pepper
* 1- 2 cans of cream style corn
* I like to throw in some frozen veggies as well

Now, time for the fun part – cooking it all up! Pop that minced pork into a pan and let it sizzle until it’s nice and tender. Just imagine the delicious smell filling up your kitchen – that’s when you know something seriously good is cooking. Once your pork is looking spot on, toss in the creamy corn. Pour it in and give it all a good mix.

Seasoning time! Sprinkle in a bit of this, dash in a bit of that – whether it’s a pinch of salt, a twist of pepper, or a splash of soy sauce (if that’s your thing) – make it taste just right for you. I also like to add in some frozen veggies.  Soon enough, you’ll have a mouthwatering, creamy dish that’s impossible to resist.

Don’t forget the seasoning! Add a sprinkle of this and a dash of that – whether it’s a pinch of salt, a twist of pepper, or maybe a hint of soy sauce (if that’s your jam) and you’ll soon have a savoury, creamy dish that’s simply irresistible. And now for the finale – spoon that tasty mix over a bowl of piping hot, fluffy rice. The creamy corn, the savoury pork – all hanging out together on a bed of rice is just simply delicious.

This dish is very basic, tasty and affordable. Get your pots and pans ready and dive into your kitchen to whip up some Creamed Corn with Pork and Rice. Thanks a bunch for hanging out on this tasty journey with me! Keep cooking, keep exploring new flavours, and let the deliciousness from different cultures inspire your kitchen adventures!
